My deep love for movies was born during weekend marathons at my dad's house, where films weren't just entertainment... they were our thing. Every visit turned into an impromptu film festival, with my brother and I curled up on the couch or at the movies, while Dad introduced us to everything from spine-tingling horror to laugh-out-loud comedies. Sure, we probably watched some films way before we should have (sorry, Mom!), but those weekends sparked something special... a lifelong appreciation for storytelling in all its forms.
...and my Mom is the one who opened my eyes to the magic of classic cinema. Through her, I discovered the timeless charm of Audrey Hepburn in "Roman Holiday" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's," the wit of "The Goodbye Girl," the pure joy of watching Ferris Bueller take that legendary day off and how great pretty much every movie John Cusack was in (my fav was Better Off Dead). During a long recovery from childhood hernia surgery, these movies became my escape, with Mom curating the perfect selection to keep my spirits up. Those hours spent watching films from my bed weren't just entertainment, they were comfort, connection, and a film education that shaped my taste forever.
Thanks to my movie-buff parents, I learned early on that great films aren't just about entertainment; they're about the emotions they stir, the conversations they start, and sometimes, the boundaries they push. Here's where I share my thoughts on the latest films that catch my eye, from hidden gems to blockbusters.
Expect honest reviews, personal insights, and maybe a few nostalgic references to those weekend movie marathons and film nights that started it all!
